And so the M brand continues its dilution
You can’t blame BMW for operating the way it does. With total revenues of over $80 billion dollars in 2010 and net profit of nearly $6 billion in just the first half of 2011, its safe to say they’ve got the formula down at extracting the most of out of their brand. But at what cost?
Introducing the lastest upcoming BMW Motorsport product.
Yes you’re looking at that...

Hope
I have a younger half sister (moms side).
She’s substantially younger.
15 years old to be exact. I call her c-line or sometimes c.
I get easily annoyed by the younger generations these days. I feel like they are borderline mindless consumers. Its why we decided as a company to work with X-Up & we did the Al Gore “Connect A Million Minds” event last november.

A day in Orange County and how I ended up behind...
Alright so those of you who have been asking. Here it is. The write up about how I ended up behind the wheel of the California.
Note 1: While I do share my thoughts on the car at the end of this post, I dont go too far into the technicals of it all. I’ll save that for the internet armchair racers out there.
Note 2: It all happened SO quickly, that I only have a handful of my own...
So we got a new HD FlipCam for the office to share some of our processes in reaching out to publishers and other general things happening here at Vokle (we just had Dane Sanders here the other day!).
In any case, Shant won’t set the damn camera down. I swear he records everything. EVERYTHING. I go into to the restroom expecting he would be waiting for me down the hallway or outside,...

Super Car Sunday
So I hit my first Super Car Sunday here in Los Angeles. I used to drive down to Irvine for Cars and Coffee, but I’m planning on making that into special trips as it is ~45min away. SCS (Super Car Sunday) I plan on making more of a regular thing.
SCS happens every Sunday from 7am - 10am at the Westfield mall parking lot off of Topanga just north of the 101 freeway. It was a pretty quiet...

Corporations flushed with cash need to invest in...
Alright, this coincides with the Maybach vs RR Phantom post from last week — sort of.
Apparently Chinese billionaire Wang Chuanfu wants his company BYD to purchase the dying Maybach brand.
Allow me to entertain the two possible reasons why they may think this is a good idea: (i follow up each with what I call edward reality)
Idea/Solution 1: they think they can save it and totally...

Rolls-Royce Phantom vs the soon to be finished...
or perhaps you could call it: understanding your brand and growing a pair large enough to do something with it. As Seth Godin would say, “when others zig, you zag”.
In this case, Rolls Royce understood what Mercedes did not. In 2001 with the introduction of the Phantom, it went bold. Just 8 years after the introduction of the Maybach, Mercedes is going home. Enjoy filling the...

Ariel Atom in Santa Monica
So i’ve recently seen an Atom on Wilshire a few times in the Santa Monica area. (stock photo above)
As soon as I saw it about 3 blocks away I was like, “Holy illegal Batman!”. But I did some research online, and found an ariel atom owner who streets his Atom, and apparently there is a California DMV code called the SB-100.
“The SB-100 gives 500 vehicles a year...
The Car Question Game
So I realized I never posted the game we played in the car. Very simple
Works best with 4 people. Unless you like entertaining yourself like I do…then it can be you against two others.
Driver and front passenger are team 1
Back two passengers are team 2
You start off with a list of questions, which each person will have to answer as you go around the circle. The twist here is...

Back in Santa Monica!
San Fran is a great city to visit, but Santa Monica owns my heart.
Ended up taking the 101 down. Nice drive in which we ended up creating a new game (at least to us).
What is the game you ask??? I’ll post it up this weekend. Its BRILLIANT in my unbiased opinion.

Clearly you’re upsetting both customers, non-customers, and even potential customers.
Just send a friendly reminder in the mail and let people buy if THEY want to.
I HAD to pay for the first year of your service because it was already in the car. I’d considered renewing despite rarely listening to it because of the number of...

Incredible Marriage Proposal →
So this is interesting. I was at Disney Land early June visiting a friend who works there, and there was this incredible marriage proposal that literally happened right in front of us. I told my friend immediately after, (being completely blown away), that I wish I had had a camera to record it. Looks like this guy has all his basis covered as the recording of the proposal surfaced. Now I have...
where on earth did the weekend go?
le sigh.
In other news i did get to finally go body boarding (went early morning during the week last week).
Borrowed a wetsuit.
Water was freezing.
Upcoming Anime Expo Event
Anime Expo Event - I believe they will be interviewing various voice over artists and taking questions from fans across the country.
This post on their blog states that they already confirmed Kyle Hebert, who did the voice of Ryu, among lots of other work such as Dragon Ball Z and Full Metal Alchemist.
Pretty exciting!
Iran vs Michael Jackson
I think its pretty safe to say that it is easy for the masses to talk themselves into distraction, and it became evident with the passing of michael jackson. While i’m not too active on twitter, i did notice that the activity around the iran protests were in full force for days on end until the untimely death of m.j. The top trends were #iran or #iranelection, and all of a sudden every...

I think its time for education to be infused with more entertainment. With more and more products like the iphone, and nintendo wii competing for kids mindshare, even something as cool / simple as this is a great example.
Pixar films generally do a good job, but some concepts are way over the heads of children (even some adults) i.e. Wall-E and corporatism.
We need to make more of this...
Vokle mentioned in Brand X
I had the chance to meet a cool (and cute) journalist from LA Times at one of the bloblive events a few weeks ago, and apparently she mentioned us in this new magazine called Brand X. Their site can be found here.
I found out when I got an email and a couple texts throughout the day from people who saw me on the cover.
Needless to say, it was weird when this guy who works at the local grocery...

Summer...where art thou?
Picked up Body Boarding last summer. The water is almost always freezing here, and rather than do the logical step and get a wetsuit so I can enjoy the sport whenever, I decide to wait until the weather and water warms up several degrees.
Hurry up summer!

Running your own business? Rule 1, always keep...
Well…maybe its not Rule #1 in the official rules of entrepreneurship, but it is really important not only for your team, but yourself. I know what you’re thinking… “tell me something I don’t know Edward”, but we’re all guilty of letting the initial flame that started the journey, to flicker from time to time. I worked through this past weekend (like many weekends) which really took a toll...

The panel was about the future of filmmaking, but that didn’t mean anyone had to like what they saw. “I’m a guy who doesn’t see anything good having come from the Internet,” said Sony Pictures Entertainment chief executive officer Michael Lynton. “Period.”
